Area Agency on Aging


The Older Americans Act requires that the Area Agency on Aging serve as the advocate and focal point for older individuals within the community by monitoring, evaluating, and commenting upon all policies, programs, hearings, levies, and community actions which will affect older individuals.

The Area Agency on Aging also provides planning and advocacy for seniors and contracts with other local non-profit organizations to provide a variety of services under the guidelines of the Older Americans Act and Older Californians Act.

These contracted services include home-delivered meals; congregate dining centers; information and assistance; case management, legal assistance; transportation; ombudsman for individuals living in facilities; adult day care; senior peer counseling; assistance to the visually impaired; caregiver support; Health Insurance Counseling and Advocacy Program, etc.

Who can receive services?

Anyone over 60 years of age.
